I have been a collector of militaria since I was 10-11 years old and have, as I got older, found better items typically vet direct or from the families of vets. One of my recent purchases is this flag. The vet had died 2-3 years prior to my purchase, it among the rest of his estate was cast off at an estate auction. The only items that he had were a German army dagger, an army officers cap and 2 flags, this being one. All I know is it is from a 4 star General in the European theatre. The auctioneer would not share the mans name so I cannot research who he was attached to. All I know is he was from Kaukauna Wisconsin, the flag was sold to me in March of 2008 in Wausau Wisconsin. It is German made, it is padded inside, the fringes are all hand tied all in the same exact place. It has a cord sewn inside around the outer edge, and has 2 holes which look like button holes on the edge with no fringe. It measures with the fringe 15" x 12". In my estimation it can only have belonged to either, Gen. Hap Arnold, Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, Gen. Joseph McNarney, Gen. Jacob Devers, Gen. Mark Clark, Gen. Omar Bradley, or Gen. George Patton. Obviously the blue and white vertical stripes and the red X mean something but what. And who owned this?? Any ideas???

Thanks for reading. Glad to share other things later.
